Competitions The men's section has competitions on most weekends. For the monthly medal (between April and October) the tee is reserved until 2:00pm. For the other competitions, normally on a Sunday, it is a case of enter on the day in the pro’s shop.
On every other Wednesday throughout the summer a medal is played so that members have a mid week chance to enter a competition - there is no tee reservation, it is a case of roll up and play!
In the winter the men have a stableford once a month in place of the monthly medal. There are also a selection of Christmas Competitions in December when there is often the chance to win Christmas drink and food. |

Matches League. There are three men’s teams which play in the Bristol & District League. The teams are very kindly sponsored by The Jelf Group who also look after the club's pension scheme. The first team are in Division 1, the second in Division 3 and the third in Division 7. They play foursomes matches and although we have not won the first division for a couple of years, in the late 90’s and early 2000’s the club won the league six years in a row. Anyone who wishes to play for one of these teams please contact the Managing Secretary and he will inform the team captains.
Divots. In addition to this competitive golf there is a Divots Team which plays friendly matches against local clubs on a Wednesday evening. Each of these matches finishes with a supper – it is competitive golf with an excellent social edge. New players are always welcome please ring David Robshaw, the Divots Captain, and he will undoubtedly fit you in.
Friendlies. The men play friendly matches against Long Ashton and The Rolls of Monmouth (we won both this year and last)! To play in these put your name on the lists in the spike bar in early August when they go up. |
