Ladies

Bristol and Clifton Ladies The Bristol and Clifton ladies section is open to all ages and has a membership of over 120 ladies playing from 9 to 90 years from complete beginners to scratch players. We play lots of fun golf as well as regular medal and trophy days with lots of occasions when you can just turn up and get a game. (link to ladies diary). Our ‘A’ Team currently hold the Bristol and District Ladies League Trophy and our ‘B’ Team were top of the second division and promoted to the 1st division again for 2008. In all 30 ladies have represented the Club this year. (link to Bristol and District League and ‘A’ and ‘B’ Team page) In order that ladies of all handicaps are able to play competitive / fun golf we have what is called the “Friendly Ladies Team”. They play eight matches a year against local clubs and stop and have tea together afterwards. They have also had a good year and they have found it most enjoyable being able to visit some of our neighbouring clubs to play friendly matches. (link to friendly team page) To try to ensure that new ladies and ladies new to golf get to know other members of the section various roll ups are arranged to introduce people not only to other players but also to the members of the ladies’ committee. Margaret O'Higgins is the Ladies' Captain for 2008 with Sandra Gibbs waiting in the wings for 2009. The Club plays a lot of mixed golf through the year. There are generally seven mixed foursomes supper evening each summer when up to forty couples play a mixed competition some time during the day and then all meet up for supper and prizes in the evening. There are also three different mixed cups to play for in the summer and two leagues, one in conjunction with the seniors, in the winter. The ladies section at B & C is therefore a very busy section which hopefully appeals to all ladies who play golf. In addition we have superb changing facilities which the club upgraded in 2006. They are now really spacious and well equipped We are a busy and successful Ladies Section and look forward to welcoming everyone. If you would like to join us just fill in an application form.
