Paul Mitchell PGA Head Professional
Paul has been part of the Bristol & Clifton team for 14 years now, firstly as assistant and as head professional since 2002. Paul began his development in the game at the Forest of Dean Golf Club, where he played at junior, county and national level. As a coach, Paul is fully qualified and has completed many PGA courses to keep his knowledge up to date. His enthusiasm and commitment towards teaching has helped to make him one of the most sought after coaches in the area. As one of the Gloucestershire junior coaches, Paul has the responsibility of developing future county stars. One success story from this system is Chris Wood, a current England player and reigning Russian Amateur champion. Under Paul’s guidance Wood capped off an outstanding year in the amateur ranks by securing first position in the PING/EGU order of merit. Paul has vast experience teaching all standards of golfer from beginners, right through to national level. Paul has achieved the NSPCC Keeping Children safe in sport qualification. Consequently, many schools in the area come to Paul for regular junior group lessons. Paul’s priority as a coach is to help people to reach their goals by improving technique, course management and mental game skills. Paul is available for group lessons or individual coaching. |

Mark Needham PGA ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL
Mark has held the position of Assistant Professional at B&C since 2004, joining the team from Long Ashton Golf Club where he played junior golf and represented Gloucestershire. Mark has experience teaching all ages and all standards of golfer but specialises in Junior Golf. Mark runs club junior coaching sessions (which are open to non-members), as well as Tri-Golf sessions for children aged 4-9 years. Seasonal Tri-Golf sessions such as Santa’s Grotto and Easter Egg Hunt Tri-golf have proved to be very popular. Mark teaches individual sessions on all areas of the game, and is also involved in teaching schools within a 50 mile radius of the golf club. Club repair is another main area of Mark’s expertise, including loft and lie, re-grooving, re-shafts and re-grips. Having recently completed his three year PGA course, Mark looks forward to attending many new PGA courses to further his development in the game.

Caren Jasmine Mitchell LL.B(HONS) RETAIL BUSINESS PARTNER
Caren has worked in the pro shop for 8 years in a retail capacity. Caren attended Bristol University, graduating with a degree in Law in 1996. After her university career, Caren took a management position with a retail company, running 3 retail outlets for them. An enthusiastic member of staff, Caren believes in creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in the shop and she enjoys being part of a team. Thanks to her efforts, the shop has a great reputation with a wide range of men’s and ladies’ golf apparel, clubs and accessories.

Paul Reed PLAYING PROFESSIONAL AND RETAIL ASSISTANT
Paul has worked in the shop since 2006 after graduating from Charleston Southern University (South Carolina, USA), with a degree in psychology. During his university career, Paul won 3 NCAA Division 1 golf tournaments and was a 3 time Big South all-conference selection. Closer to home, Paul represented Gloucestershire at junior and senior level, and also won the 2002 Gloucestershire Men’s County Championships. Paul now competes on the PGA EuroPro Tour. In the retail environment, Paul enjoys helping people to purchase equipment that is right for them using his knowledge of the golf game. |

Tom Waycott RETAIL ASSISTANT
Tom is the newest member of the team, currently a Clifton College student, working during the school holidays and at weekends. A very keen young golfer, and reigning junior club champion, Tom is eager to continue to improve his game over the coming years. Tom currently plays off a handicap of 14, and enjoys all aspects of golf and retail.
