Harry Fowler wins Failand PlateHarry Fowler, of B&C, had a really good day on Saturday 10th May winning the Failand Plate by two clear shots from Jamers Sansum of Clevedon. His 141 - 69 in the morning and 72 in the afternoon was excellent golf in very hot sticky weather. Richard Bromilow made it a specially good day for the Club by winning the gross prize - his 76 & 78 scores totalled 154. Pictured is Harry with the Plate and his prize after Richard had presented them to him. The course, considering the really cold weather which had stopped all growth until last weekend, was in excellent condition. Especially as we had over 1.5 inches of rain on Friday night which filled all the bunkers and stripped them of all their sand from the sides. However Matt and his team worked tirelessly in the early morning and had the course paying really well. The rain had been so hard it had even stripped some of the pebble dashing off the ouitside walls of the clubhouse! Well done to Harry and Richard. |
