Fantastic Season for the Ladies

ALLIANCE TEAMS Bristol & Clifton Golf Club ladies have been very successful over the last three years. The first team has now won the Bristol & District Ladies Alliance for the last three years. The second team has been in the first division twice in those three years and is now back again having won Division two in 2007.
The first team has been brilliantly led by Clare Page and the second by Anne Archer. They have both put in a huge amount of work to ensure that the teams have the best players available.
In 2008 the Club will have a third team in operation. This is the first time a third team has been entered by a club and they are having to start off in Division 6. Jo Harrison will be running the team and will, I am sure, have a lot of effort to put in to raise a team to fully represent the club.

WATSON WILLIAMS WATSON WILLIAMS
The Watson Williams Cup has been won by the Club for the last two years. The Watson Williams is the trophy for the County scratch foursomes knock out championships. In 2007 Sian James and Karen Rix won the final against Knowle. This after Karen and Su Worthington had won the same final in 2006. |

Ladies Friendly Team The Friendly Ladies team was led by Margaret Black in 2007 and played eight matches against local clubs. These matches are, as it says, friendly matches played as Greensomes with a tea afterwards. All the players are of handicap 20 and over and this allows the higher handicap players the chance to play competitive friendly golf. Wendi Vane Percy will be running the team for 2008 |
