March 25 2008, 10:51 amMany congratulations to Sam Morgan and Martin Millett on winning the County Junior /Adult Foursomes Championship on Monday at Chipping Sodbury.
Winning score was Gross 74 - 2 over par - included four birdies with two two's being a great help on a very windy and cold day with the course playing it's full length from the championship tees.
It was neck and neck with playing partners Nigel Thompson (current county first team player and vice-captain) and partner with the seventeenth hole being decisive - our par four was key as our opponents went out of bounds.The winning margin was four shot's in the end.
Second Nett were Alex Saunders and Karen Rix. They came in with a net 70.5 losing out on the winners by half a shot!
An excellent day for B&C all round. - the last winners from B + C were Paul Reed and James Webber in 1997.The first ever winner's in 1961 included a very young Peter Mawson !
